Adele Zann

d. February 28, 2016

Adele Nancy Zann, 89, passed away in the gentle arms of God to her eternal rest and reward, February 28, 2016. She is now reunited with her husband Herman Joseph Zann and many other loved ones, where they now spend their eternity with their savior Jesus Christ. Adele and her husband Herman lived in Hearne, Texas for 19 years prior to moving to Birmingham, Alabama in 1962. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Antonette Brezina; brother, Edward Brezina, sister, Louise Kowalski, daughter, Bernadine Hawkins, and grandson, Christopher Klask. Through 5 generations she is survived by sister, Esther Kowalski, daughter, Patricia Klask and husband Jack, Diane Rutkowski and husband Brent, son, Herman Zann and wife Cheryl, Joyce Cooper and husband Ron, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great-grandchildren.

If you have ever met our precious mother, Adele then count your-self blessed. Her life was nothing less than an inspiration to each person she came in contact with. Adele is one of the few individuals I have ever known who truly understood what the scripture meant in 2 Corinthians 13:4-8. Adele would give everything she had to anyone who asked not just because she loved them, but because she loved God more. There are many things we will miss about Adele like calling her on the phone just to talk and hear one of her many stories. She was a story teller who hoped that through each story she could teach us all life lessons. Lessons like: Following the Ten Commandments, respecting your parents, wearing modest clothing, how to do word search puzzles, that Elvis was the greatest musician, how cigarettes are bad and filled with the devil, that Angles are real and she has seen them, how to cook the greasiest egg sandwich in the world. She was a supporter of both Alabama and Auburn football teams, even during a bad game; she enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and The Golden Girls. Mostly, she loved praying the rosary with Mother Angelica on EWTN. The list of things she enjoyed and we enjoyed about her is endless. For those that knew her take with them the best advice and life's lesson she often offered, as goofy as some may be. Life will surely not be the same without her, but one thing is for sure is that Adele's life will be one that we all will celebrate and not mourn.
