Wilbur Conway

Wilbur Gene Conway was born in Calera, AL on Sunday May 19, 1940. He was an avid bowler, loved golf, loved to dance and loved his family. He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School and was a member of Huffman Baptist Church. Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Conway and Elizabeth Roberts Conway. He is survived by his wife Susan Martin Conway; his daughters, Elizabeth Conway Glenn (Jacob) and Patty Eatherton; his brother, Doyle Conway (Becki); grandson, Carter Thomas Glenn; granddaughter, Kelsey Sunderland; two nephews, Todd Conway (Shannon) and Seth Conway (Lacy); two great nephews, Caden Conway and Cole Kiley; great niece, Kiley Conway; sister-in-law, Peggy Martin Tumlin; lifelong friends whom he loved as brothers will serve as pallbearers, John Campbell, Gerald Calma, Phillip Calma, Johnny Jones, Roy Ledbetter, Mickey Robinson, Doug Wiggins and John Word. Visitation will be on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be on Saturday at 12 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Smith will be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the UAB Center for Palliative and Supportive Care in memory of Wilbur Conway, c/o Mallie Hale, Boshell Diabetes Building 461, 1808 7th Avenue, Birmingham, AL 35294-0012.
