Virginia Acker

Virginia D. Acker, age 82, of Pinson, passed away July 31, 2013. She was a member of Clay United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband Tom W. Acker. Graveside services will be held on Friday, Aug 2, at 3pm with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Reverend David Awtrey will officiate. Visitation will be from 2pm until 3pm Friday. She is survived by her daughters Terri Engels (John), Jean McNew (Monte), Susie Garner (Randy), son Tom Acker Jr. (Carol), grandchildren Kristin Pflugner, Jody Quick, Shea McNew, Cally McNew, Tom Acker III, great granddaughter Isla Pflugner, sister Eloise Whitley, and brother Fred Wheeler. The family would like to thank Sunrise Ridge Assisted Living, East Glen Nursing Home, EverCare Hospice, and all the many caregivers who took care of Mrs. Acker.
