age 52 of Pinson, AL passed away on January 21, 2014. Valerie is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Steve Franklin; 2 sons, Christopher Franklin (Sonya) of Gardendale and Alex Franklin of Pinson; 2 grandchildren, Brianna and Tyler Franklin of Gardendale; 2 sisters, Melody S. Wesson of McCalla and Tamara S. Sisson (Paul) of Gardendale; 3 brothers, Jay Spearman of Center Point, John Spearman, Jr. (Charlene of Mobile, and David Spearman (Linda) of Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents, John P. and Charlotte Spearman. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She was a vocalist who sang with several different bands around Birmingham, AL area and other states. She loved her 4 cats that she had rescued. Visitation will be Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 5-7pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 1:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
