Ula Aldridge Sr

After a long and memorable life, Powell Aldridge (PawPaw) passed away peacefully at home Friday evening. He is survived by his three loving children Powell Aldridge, Jr. (Brenda), Jan Haynie and Kevin Aldridge (Priscilla), four grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and two special sisters Pauline Johnson and Mary Lou Mann. He was a farmer and World War II Navy veteran before he became a butcher working at several different grocery stores throughout Birmingham and retiring at Cornelius Food Center in Tarrant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae, and granddaughter Robyn Walls. We would like to give thanks to Alacare Hospice for their wonderful care and support as well as his special caregiver, Wendy Greene. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make donations to your favorite charity. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm from the funeral home chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
