Thomas Saffles

SAFFLES, THOMAS JEFFERSON Age 88, resident of Springville AL passed away November 7, 2012. Tom was a US Navy veteran during WWII where he served on a PT boat. He retired as an electrician from Norfolk Southern Railway. Tom was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church and was a previous member of both Crestway Baptist and 66th Street Baptist. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Metro #928, for 50 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Henry Saffles and Ethel Burt Saffles; brother, Billy Jo Saffles; sister, Agnes Mills; and his beloved child, Traci Suzette Saffles. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Irene Saffles; son, Tommy Saffles (Roxanne); daughter, Kitty Caswell (Eddie); brother, Windell Saffles; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be November 9 from 12:00 noon till service time. Reverend Dewey Corder & Reverend Jimmy Wilson will be officiating. Burial will be in Forest Crest Cemetery in Irondale. "An exceptional, Godly husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
