Thomas Long, Jr.

Thomas Edward Long, Jr., age 83, passed away on July 14, 2018 at his home at St. Martin’s in the Pines in Irondale, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. CT to 3:00 p.m. CT on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Jefferson Memorial East Trussville, Alabama. A private graveside service will be held post the visitation. He graduated from Tarrant High School. He worked 42 years at APAC-Alabama, Inc. and loved his work and those he worked with and served. He is survived by his sister, Katie (Leon) Sparks, his daughter, Debbie (Larry Sr.) Tyler, Mark Long, David (Carla) Long. Just as his Father, he was called Grand-daddy by his grandchildren. He is survived by his five grandchildren, Larry (Machelle) Tyler, Jr., Laura (Greg) Lovell, Lauren (Dave) Jeffery, Lacey (Trevor) Carlton and Bryant Long. He has seven great-grandchildren Andrew, Canaan, Chris, Alex, Zoe, Abigail, Tanner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Long and his daughter-in-law Janet Long. He is survived by his caring companion Doris Ladner.
