WHITE, SARA HARDEGREE Mrs. Sara Hardegree White, 83, formerly of Birmingham, died Wednesday afternoon after an extended illness. Her death occurred in Golden, Mississippi. An English teacher for 40 years, she taught most of her career for the Jefferson County school system. She also served in educational organizations as well as participated in numerous school activities. While residing in Birmingham she served faithfully in numerous capacities at Lakewood Baptist Church. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Golden, Mississippi. Visitation will be held at 2:00 P.M. with a graveside service to follow on August 20 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Mr. James C. White and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Manly Hardegree. Surviving are her daughter, Pheobe White Hill, grandchildren Kristin and Jarod Massey, Jonathan Hill, and great-grandchildren Andrew Massey and Addie Massey of Red Bay, Alabama. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
