Robert Montgomery

Robert Holmes Montgomery, age 86, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, October 29, 2017. Robert is a veteran of the US Navy and a retired Birmingham Police officer with 27 years of service. Robert was a member of Huffman Baptist Church for over 60 years where he served as a deacon. Robert is preceded in death by his parents J.W. B. and Eva Montgomery and wife Jean Montgomery. He is survived by his wife Gayle S. Montgomery, one son, Robert Keith Montgomery (Katie) and one daughter Cynthia Montgomery Posey, and one step-daughter Kelli Parker. Also survived by sister Mary Cleveland of Irondale, and Mildred Herndon of Auburn; one brother J. B. Montgomery (Irish) of Warsaw, MI. Grandchildren are Jennifer Posey Pilkington (Rafe), of Moody, Christa B. Posey of Birmingham, and Stephen A. Montgomery of Ocala, FL. Five step-grandchildren Hunter Parker, Taylor Parker, Chandler Parker, Mandi Parker and Parker Nelson. Great grandchildren are Colin Pilkington, Claire Pilkington and Cooper Pilkington. Services will be Wednesday, November 1, 2017 with visitation from 11:00-12:00 followed by service at 12:00. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
