Ollie M. Adcock met her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the age of 78 after a long battle with COPD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Adcock in 1982 and her son, William H. "Bill" Adcock in 2002. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Patterson of Mobile, Alabama and Laura Lynn Chandler (Brett) of Pinson, Alabama. Other survivors include her 6 grandchildren; Stephen L. Adcock (Beth) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, James H. "Jamie" Kyser (Holli) of Mobile, Alabama, Kathryn Adcock Haskett (Russell) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Paula Patterson Brown (Brandon) of Mobile, Alabama, Anna Harris Raines (Austin) of Birmingham, Alabama and Carlon A. "Carl" Chandler of Pinson, Alabama, and 3 great-grandchildren; Taylor M. Patterson, age 5; Avia C. Kyser, age 2; and Ella G. Raines age 2. She was a long-time member of The United Methodist Church of Center Point and in the last several years attended LifeChurch Birmingham with her daughter. She worked many years at the old East End Hospital in the Operating Room and Medical Observation Unit as well as with Winn Dixie Supermarkets as a cashier. The family will receive guests on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, Alabama. There will be a Graveside service on Wednesday, September 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Masonic Gardens. A memorial fund is being set up at LifeChurch Birmingham in her memory or you can send donations in her memory to The American Lung Association or Lovelady Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
