Neal Hemphill

Neal E. Hemphill, Jr., age 53, of Trussville, passed away on July 29. He was a dedicated, loving and caring husband, father, brother, and friend to all who knew him. He was also a wonderful son-in-law and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Trussville. Neal began his career in the plumbing business with his father, who started the business in 1952. Neal was very proud of his business, Hemphill Services, which has allowed him to help others throughout his life. His family, along with his business is the legacy that he leaves behind. Mr. Hemphill was preceded in death by his wife, Deana Bailey Hemphill; his parents, Neal Hemphill, Sr. and Betty Beasley Hemphill; and his sister, Debbie Hemphill Lindley. He is survived by his daughters, Taylor Hemphill Johnson (Hunter), and Bailey Hemphill; his sisters, Janie Hemphill Shamblin (Neal), Genie Hemphill Woods (Steve); brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Adam and Ashley Trammell; niece and nephews, Brady, Jordyn, and Camdyn, along with other nieces and nephews; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Glynda Bailey; and grandmother, Gloria "Nanny" Waldrop. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 2, at 3pm at First Baptist Church of Trussville. A visitation will be from 1pm until the funeral hour. Interment will follow the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at www.komen.org
