Nancy Acker

Nancy Howard Acker, age 65 of Birmingham, AL went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2011. She was a member of Rock First United Methodist Church in Tarrant. She proudly served as a church organist for 47 years and for the last 32 years at Rock First United Methodist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Nana. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James "Mickey" Acker and her father, Jim Howard. She is survived by her daughters, Tracy McLeod (Ralph) of Alabaster, AL, Christy Naylor (Allan) of Argo, AL, and Stephanie Canterbury ( Ricky) of West Blocton, AL; mother, Jewell Howard of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Briana, Brooke, Blake McLeod, Allana and Jay Naylor, Olivia and Zach Canterbury. Visitation will be on Monday, January 17, 2011 from 5 to 7PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be on Tuesday at 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial with burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Henry Segars and Pastor Patrick Turner will be officiating over the services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rock First United Methodist Church. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
