Melanie Barnett

Melanie Suzanne Barnett, age 59, of Birmingham, AL passed away July 9, 2022. Melanie was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Wise Barnett. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her father, James Talmadge Barnett; stepmother, Judy Barnett; brother, Dr. Jim Barnett (Paula); sister, Amanda Barnett; nieces, Robin Barnett (Trey) and Dr. Carolyn Qualtrough (Chris), nephews, Jay Barnett (Stacia) and Birch Barnett; great nieces, Miriam and Ada James Barnett; stepsisters, Amelia Buckley and Julia McAfee; stepbrother, Chuck McAfee.  Step Great Nephew, Jamie Buckley.  Melanie began her career at Alagasco (Spire) two weeks following graduation from Huffman High School. She retired in June 2022 after 41 years of service. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, July 15, with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Brother Mike Moman is officiating. A private interment will take place at Jefferson Memorial's adjoining cemetery.
