Lena Long

Lena Mae Long, age 95 of Birmingham, AL passed away on February 15, 2011. She was the daughter of Virginia Trickey and Lewis Oliver Jones. She was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church where at one time she was the head of the nursery for many years. She was the member of the Gladys Kirby Sunday School Class. She retired as a nurse from Hillcrest Hospital and also Long's Electronics. She is preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Jones Long and 1 brother and 5 sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Garner and Linda Sumners (Gene) and sons, James N. Long (Chris) and Weldon Roy Long (Lisa), grandchildren, Ricky Garner (Cheryl), Jeff Garner, Karen Harris (John), Chris Long (Brenda), Leslie Long, Rick Sumners (Cammie), Susan Douglas (John), Paige Kirklin (Tommy), Stephen Long (Sharon), and Beth Copham (Craig), 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, February 18, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services to follow at 11:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Reverend James Long of Meadow Brook Baptist Church in Gadsden, AL will be officiating over the services. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
