James Ray Moss Jr., age 73, of Trussville, passed away February 1, 2013. He was previously employed with the Bendix Corporation, Sioux Tools, Carborundum Grinding Wheel Company and the City of Trussville. Ray was a Shriner, Zamora Temple, was director of several units and loved interacting with people. Later he owned and operated Sassy's Homemade Ice Cream at Pepper Place and Doggie Diner at Railroad Park. Ray was preceded in death by his parents James Ray Sr. and Maude Moss, son Kenneth Moss. Chapel services will be held on Monday February 4 at 12pm with burial in Lineville City Cemetery in Lineville, AL. Visitation will be from 11am until 12pm Monday. He is survived by his wife Carol Moss, children Sharon Moss Shaw, Carol Ann Wells Baker, Michael Wade Wells, Kenneth Lee Wells; grandchildren Austin Battle, Andrew Bradley Alexander, Christopher Barnett Baker Jr., Jessica Lyn Wells, Avery Caroline Wells, Blake Miller, Presley Dean Miller; great grandchildren Jace Thomas Gill, and Wells Thomas Alexander; cousins James Mitchell, Lyn Mitchell and Ralph Mitchell as well as his special puppy companion "Buttons". The family would like to thank his friends, who shared breakfast at Golden Rule and coffee at the Waffle House daily. The family would like to thank his caregivers with Oasis Hospice- Pam Baker, Tammy Smith, Kristy Fallagant, Michelle Tyler and Lynn Gardner for their compassion and tender loving care.
