Horace Carson

Horace W. "Sunset" Carson. He was born on July 17, 1933 in Piper, AL to Helen Fancher Carson and Marshall Coker Carson. He married Jacqueline McNeal Carson on November 8, 1957. He has two sons, Chris Carson (Terri Carson) and Casey Carson; two granddaughters, Heather and Holly Carson; brother, Rev. Marshall Carson "Kit" (Sue). Sunset spent 40 years working in Birmingham City Hall as part of the Zoning Department. He loved Birmingham and worked to make it a better place to live. He retired on September 18, 1993 as the Zoning Control Supervisor for the city. He loved God, his family and his church. He enjoyed planting flowers and working in his garden. He was a member of East Lake United Methodist Church. Services will be on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Sally Allocca will be officiating over the services.
