Herbert Moore

Herbert Moore, age 92 of Birmingham, AL passed away on February 6, 2011. He was a member of Rock United Methodist Church, Tarrant, AL. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theater, where he helped support the Air Offensive against Japan from China, India- Burma and Tinian Island. He retired from Jefferson Home Furniture Co. at the age of 70. Then he took up full time gardening and community activities including Food Share and helped with the voting polls. He is preceded in death by his wife, Clara Evelyn Moore and his son, William Alexander Moore. He is survived by his children, Bruce Moore (Barbara), Ellen Moore Bryant (Michael), Thomas Moore (Kim), and Glenn Moore (Susan); grandchildren, Amy Swiney, Burns Farley, Rebecca Moore, Emily Diane Hendrick, Patrick Raymond Bryant, Kevin Michael Bryant, Tabitha Moore, and Ryan Moore. Services will be on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Rev. Patrick Turner will be officiating over the services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rock United Methodist Church.
