Gerald Self

Gerald Allen Self completed his ordered days on July 5, 2011. He was born on August 8, 1947 to the late JC and Ernestine Self in Red Bay, Al. He grew up in Sheffield, AL; graduated from Auburn University in 1970 with a degree in Electrical Engineering; served with the US Army in Panama; married Brenda Petree of Winston-Salem, NC in 1975; made their home in Birmingham; retired from AT&T; and worshipped, served and enjoyed fellowship with friends at Trussville First Baptist. The men in Don Beasley's SS Class will serve their friend as pallbearers. Gerald is survived by his wife, Brenda; son, Allen Conrad Self; daughter Jessica Self Rosner (Marc); grandson Benjamin Luke Rosner; and sisters Marceil Melicks (Alan) and Amy Hester (Mike).

On Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Trussville Jefferson Memorial, a 9AM visitation with friends will precede an 11AM celebration of Gerald's life. Burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
