Evelyn Sue Wood Watwood, age 74 of Pinson, Alabama passed away peacefully on October 10, 2012. She was born in Crane Hill, Alabama on December 11, 1937 and was a graduate of Woodlawn High School. She was proceeded in death by her parents, John Henry and Josephine Elizabeth Wood; her sister, Ruth Wood Garrett and her brother, Herald Dean Wood. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Harvey Watwood; daughters Brenda and Amy Hill (Nick) and three granddaughters, Nicole Sturgeon (Joseph), Natalie Hill and Neely Hill, her sister Rachel Wood Fisher, her sister-in-law Myrna Loy Googe Wood (Savannah, GA) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Sue was a longtime and faithful member of Deerfoot Baptist Church, formerly 85th Street Baptist Church, where she was a devoted Financial Secretary for 22 years. While an active church member, she graciously and humbly served on almost every committee as well as Nursery Director and taught her beloved three, four and five year olds in Sunday School. Sue's life revolved around her family, her "church family" - especially her children in Sunday School--and her friends. She was a strong and kind woman and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Services will be held at Deerfoot Baptist Church on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Wayne Scott and Reverend Roger Willmore. Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church. The graveside service will be held at the Deerfoot Baptist (Mount Olive) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to the Big Oak Ranch, P.O. Box 507, Springville, Alabama 35146.
