Evelyn Morgan Adams, 85, of Trussville, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, after a brief illness. Born on November 25, 1936 in Cullman, Alabama, she grew up under – at times - challenging conditions, yet surrounded by loving relatives, an experience that would shape her. Evelyn met the love of her life, Tim, while attending Eva High School, and in 1958 began 63 years of marriage spent in Roebuck, Center Point and Trussville. Soon thereafter, she became – and remained – an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Evelyn fully devoted herself to her husband and two sons, determined to provide the stable environment she often lacked as a child. She also helped make the family-owned business a success through her hard work, perfectionism, creativity and unrivaled people skills. This unique combination of abilities served her so well in her true calling – helping others. She passionately delivered meals to the sick and grieving, and painstakingly organized – together with her special group of friends – countless community and church events, in particular bridal teas. Her special talent was creating floral arrangements. As with everything she touched, she wanted it done pretty and right. Demanding, but caring, she carried herself with grace and humility. She leaves a void in our lives that no single person could ever fill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hebert and Lois Pattillo Morgan, her brother Winfred, her sister-in-law Monte, and her brother Sanford. She is survived by: her devoted husband Tim; her two loving sons, Patrick Adams (Mary Ashley) and Barry Adams (Lyudmyla); five deeply adored grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, McKenzie, Mathilda and Maximilian; one sister-in-law, Sharon Morgan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from12:30-2:00 on Monday, February 28, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Trussville with a service at 2:00 and burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, a financial gift can be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church (7789 Gadsden Highway, Trussville AL 35173).
