Edgar Dailey Jr

Edgar M Dailey Jr. "Mikie", of Hoover, Alabama passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the age of 88. Mikie was born in Woodstock Alabama, December 20, 1928. He was the oldest son of Edgar and Willie Dailey, both deceased. After graduating Phillips High School, Mikie married Laura Jean Flowers, (deceased 2008). He began his first career at United States Steel and after retiring he had a second career as a Residential/Commercial Builder, completing numerous new residential and church properties and renovations throughout the Birmingham area. Mikie and Jean had two children, Brenda J. Dailey and Eddie Dailey (Sharon), one granddaughter Blair Dailey Lane (Chase). In 2009, Mikie married Dorothy Ann Brown. Mikie enjoyed travel and visited all but two of the United States. He was an accomplished private pilot and even flew a drone a few weeks before he became ill. He and Ann were members of Lakeside Baptist Church of Hoover Alabama. Mikie is survived by his Wife, Ann, of Hoover, his Children, Brenda, Eddie Sharon and Grandchildren, Blair and Chase, all of Vestavia Hills, his Step Daughter Cheryl Scoggins and Step Granddaughter, Samantha Lee Scoggins, of Alabaster, his Aunt Sarah Medders (W.T.) his Sister, Martha Byars (Russ), Brother, Thomas K. Dailey, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial, Trussville, Al, Wednesday, Sept 27, from 10am until 11am with graveside services to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Lakeside Baptist Church (205)822-1240.
