Dudley Greenway

Dudley Lamar Greenway, age 74, of Moody, AL passed away on January 24, 2020.  Dudley graduated from Woodlawn High School. After Graduation, Dudley joined the United States Army.  Dudley served 2 years during the Vietnam War Era and received an early honorable discharge to return home so that he could provide and support his mother. Dudley started attending Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Tarrant, AL where he met his wife, Brenda.  Dudley and Brenda were married on June 29, 1968.  They had 3 children, Johnny, Belinda, and Neal.  Dudley was a loving, fun, full of life dad that taught his children to play sports, fish, ride bikes, to drive a car, and the boys to hunt.  Dudley was employed with The City of Birmingham Civil Engineering Department where he started out as a Party Chief and then became a Licensed Land Surveyor.  Dudley retired from The City of Birmingham after 36 years of employment.  Dudley loved the outdoors. He spent time outside planting and grooming his flowers, trees, and shrubbery. Dudley also spent time with his best friend, Curtis Holloway, going to farms and picking fresh berries and tomatoes.  Also, Dudley and Curtis would hit the road and drive to the Georgia line to purchase lottery tickets and would travel to Casinos.  Dudley Loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.  But there was one more special person in Dudley’s life and that was his little chihuahua, Ringo.  Ringo loved the walks around the neighborhood and rides in the car with Dudley. Dudley was a man that your first meeting with him, you may have been a stranger but by the time you part, you are friends.  It did not matter if you were blood related or not, Dudley Loved and accepted everyone. Dudley was preceded in death by his parents, John Lawrence and Nancy Bertha Greenway.  Sister - Peggy Coker.  Brother- Charles Wayne Greenway.  Grandson - Zachary Neal Greenway. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Parris Greenway.  Son - Johnny (Kristi) Greenway, Daughter - Belinda (Michael) Rollins, Son - Neal (Allison) Greenway.  Grandchildren: Cole Greenway, Hunter Rollins, Connor Greenway, Austin Greenway, Addison Greenway, Charlie Rollins, Preston Rollins.
