David Smith

David Earl Smith, age 72, of Pinson, passed away August 28, 2012. He was born in Philadelphia, PA March 4, 1940, moved to Atlantic City, NJ for the first five years of his life, and then moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where he lived most of his life until he moved to Alabama in 2001. He loved to fish, hunt, trap and skeet shooting, camping, gardening and anything outdoors. He was involved with disabled organizations and was a district manager for Sub Zero. He was a 3rd Degree Mason and a member of Faith Lutheran Church Clay, AL. David was an avid Green Bay Packers and Alabama Fan. He loved the South. He was preceded in death by his parents Marjorie and Bob Smith, and his grandson Tony Sparks. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept 1, at 10am at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Larry Richardson officiating. David is survived by his wife Ellen Griffin Smith, children Richard Smith, Sherri L. Smith and Susan Jones, grandchildren Jesse Sparks, Amanda Marie Smith, Hannah Magli, Caleb and Eric Jones, numerous great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
