Cheryl Howard

Ms. Cheryl Renee Howard departed this life peacefully June 11, 2017. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Earl Howard Jr., and her grandfather, Edward Guy. She is survived by her mother, Theresa Guy Howard, brothers, Robbie Howard (Kristen), Charles (Stephanie), and Joseph (Lauren), grandparents, Robert and Ira Mae Howard and Martha Vaughan, nieces and nephews, Catherine Howard, Rob, Joshua, Addison, Jeremiah, Savannah, Grace, James, Nora Mae, Lilly, and Joseph Grant, and many aunts, uncle, and cousins. A visitation will be on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 10:00am from the funeral home chapel with a one hour visitation prior to the service with Reverend Buddy Champion officiating. Interment will follow the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. She was saved during Vacation Bible School at the age of 8. Cheryl taught autistic children after her graduation from the University of Montevallo. She loved both children and her horses and cats. As a teenager, Cheryl volunteered at the United Cerebral Palsy Center. We are very grateful to Special Equestrians for having her in the program and helping her develop riding abilities and love for horses. Also, we would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Gillette Specialty Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota for their care of Cheryl throughout her life.
