Burrell Wilson

Burl Samuel Wilson, age 60 of Birmingham, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013. He was a very active member of Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was an enthusiastic member of the Praise Team and Chancel Choir. Burl Wilson was a kind, jovial, and exuberant man that made everyone feel welcomed to the church. He loved his family, friends, and Auburn football. He was a lover of music and vacations that ended in sunsets at the beach. Mr. Wilson is preceded in death by his father, Samuel E. Wilson; sister, Betty Wilson; and brother, Bob Wilson. Survivors include his wife, Jolene Morgan Wilson; daughter, Mary Morgan Wilson; mother, Evelyn C. Wilson; sister, Bea Cotelis (Andy); sister-in-law, June Wilson; and numerous other family members and close friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 21 from 12 noon until 2:00 PM at Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church followed by the service at 2:00 PM with Reverend Michael Carver officiating. The burial will be held in the adjoining cemetery after the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church in the name of the Burl Wilson Memorial Fund. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
