Bernard Woods

Bernard A. (Nardy) Woods, Sr. Aug. 13, 1926-Nov. 26, 2010 Mr. Woods was born in Birmingham, one of 14 children. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force in WWII and Korea. He loved fishing on the coast, and having his family for Sunday morning breakfast with gravy and biscuits. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris; children, Andy (Kathy), Larry (Sherl), Steve (Deb), Diane Mitchell (Hershel), Trudy Woods (Bill Dorsey), and Scott; grandchildren, Trey Woods (Mary), Brad Woods, Jeffery Woods, Lauren Woods, Greg Woods, Ginger Woods, James Alan Woods, Spivey Woods, Carter Mitchell, Jake Mitchell, Jennifer Moore and Charles Nelson; and great-grandson, Blake Woods; sister, Alice Roberts; and a loving extended family of in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 30 from 10 to 11AM at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 7921 1st Ave. N, Birmingham, AL 35206, followed by a funeral mass. Burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Mr. Woods was a devoted member of St. Barnabas for over 70 years and in his memory, please make a donation to the "MSGR O'Conner Trust Fund" for the St. Barnabas School in lieu of flowers.
