HARRIS, BARBARA JOAN BLACK age 75 died Saturday, June 12, 2010. She was preceded in death by husband Homer L. Harris, Jr., son Homer Noble Harris, parents Noble and Lillie Black, sister, Jackie Haley, brother N C Black and son-in-law Gene Warner. She worked 33 years in the travel industry and 8 years in the optical field before retiring. She was active in Springville Gospel Assembly Church where she served as church decorator, usherette and choir member. Joan is survived by daughters Sherri Warner, Damascus VA, Hazel (Dwight) Christolear, Hueytown, granddaughter Dianne (Matthew) Broadhead, Grandson Chip (Regina) Barnhill, and step grandchildren, David (Nicki) Warner, Lindsay, Bethany, Stephen and Laurie Christolear. Joan leaves six great grandchildren, Hollie, Cayton and Cole Broadhead and Chance, Colby and Chylyn Barnhill She also leaves step great grandchildren, Dillon, Noah, Rider, Warner and Braley Christolear. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 10-11AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev.
