Obituary of Lillie Esslinger
The Lord, in His love, grace, and mercy, brought Genell Hall Esslinger, 81, of Trussville, Alabama, home on Sunday, March 11, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jerry Frederick Esslinger, and her daughter, Katherine Ruth Esslinger. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Esslinger Nix (Mark) and her son, Fred Esslinger (Ann). Genell was adored by her four grandchildren who were her heart and her joy: Joel Nix(Courtney), Jacob Nix (Ashley), Katherine Esslinger Walls (Alex), and Lauren Esslinger. She was greatly blessed with four precious great grand-babies: Junior and Mabrey Nix, Ellington Walls, and Eli Nix. Genell was born September 25, 1936 to Herman and Lois Hall and raised in Florence Alabama; survived by her one sister, Faye Hall McGee. She graduated with honors from University School of Nursing and spent 35 years as an RN beginning at East End Hospital and retiring from Medical Center East. Genell is a longtime member of Trussville First United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 15, from 11 :00-12:00 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with a service to follow in the chapel at 12 o’clock noon.
Genell will be laid to rest in Jefferson Memorial Gardens between her loving husband Jerry , and her precious daughter Kathy.
