She graduated from Jefferson County High School in the class of 1947. She raised her family in Pinson, Alabama after following her husband’s Navy career that took her to Florida and Maryland. She was a faithful member of the Palmerdale United Methodist Church where she served in multiple positions of lay leadership including service with children, youth, United Methodist Women and overseas missions.
